Donating Beer to Raise Money for Childhood Cancer Research

We recently launched Black Hog Helps, a charitable wing at Black Hog Brewery, where we bring together our staff, customers, and neighbors to celebrate and give back. As a part of our efforts, we are thrilled to support Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) and vie for the kids as they host the 3rd Annual Robby Brisco Open (RBO) on August 6th at the Golf Club of Avon.

The RBO Committee Chair was on the lookout for some delicious beer to serve at the event, and you know what??? We have delicious beer to give! We are happy to provide 10 cases of Granola Brown, a satisfying energy packed libation after a long day of golf, and 10 cases of SWAG, a refreshing citrus wheat ale, the perfect thirst quencher after a long day in the summer sun. We want to set these golfers up for success, and these are the perfect beers to do just that.

The Robby Brisco Open is a proud vie for the kids partner, an all-volunteer organization that has raised more than $1,000,000 for cancer research and family support at the Medical Center. This impacts the lives of thousands of children and families across Southern New England. The organization is motivated by children like Robby and are on a mission to make sure that all children have access to leading-edge clinical trials in their own backyard. Any life lost to cancer is horrible, but losing a child to cancer is somehow more horrible and tragic, because so many years of life are lost.

Each year Black Hog donates thousands of dollars of proceeds to local charities, and this one is very near and dear to our hearts. We wish all the golfers a day of light wind, partly sunny skies, and birdies aplenty. We will be with you in spirit and beer.
