Black Hog Helps Local Family

In December 2018, the Funderburk family of Southbury lost their 13 year old son Otto “O-Bomb” after a six month battle with Leukemia.

The Funderburk  family, as well as the CT Trail Mixers running club, will be brewing a special one-off beer named the “Mix-Bomb IPA” at Black Hog, to be released for Black Hog’s 2nd annual 5k race day April 14th. This beer is named for the CT Trail Mixers running club and Otto “O-Bomb” Funderburk who was #19 star center fielder playing for Pomperaug Youth Baseball. All proceeds will be donated to the Otto Funderburk Fund through the Connecticut Community Foundation. Donations can be made directly through the fund’s website https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/funderburk

The “Belly of the Hog” 5k on April 14th will host a DKMS bone marrow drive, Swiss Army knife-building station, the Caseus Cheese Truck, Mini Munch food truck, Hardcore Sweet Cupcake Truck, Beyond Botanicals, PoliticTeeCorrect merch, Swiss Army will have an Otto Strong Forever and Black Hog knife building station, Drunk Alpaca Bakery, WestsSide Jerky, and the CT Trail Mixers.
