As thousands flock to the opening of The Big E Friday, many are expected to try a new beer garden near the Connecticut Building.
The Connecticut Craft Beer Garden will feature breweries from around the state, including City Steam Brewery, Back East Brewery, Broad Brook Brewing, Overshores Brewing Co., Broad Brook Brewing, Olde Burnside Brewing, Thomas Hooker Brewery, Black Hog Brewing Company, Two Road Brewing Company, Stony Creek Brewery, Half Full Brewery, and 30 Mile Brewing Co. It is located in a tent behind the Connecticut Building.
Another new addition this year are two mini “Chowdafests” on Sunday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 25, featuring “chowder, soups, and bisques from Connecticut restaurants,” according to a press release.
“The Connecticut Building is a wonderful microcosm of our great state,” said Randy Fiveash, director of the Connecticut Office of Tourism in a statement. “It’s a thrill to see people turn out in such large numbers to discover and rediscover some of the best food, fun and culture Connecticut has to offer. We invite everyone to come and experience it.”
The Big E runs until Oct. 2
